Medium Voltage Repeater Unit (USA Topology)
In MainNet's PLUS system, RpMCtPLUS is the medium-voltage distribution unit that extends low-voltage grids into the medium-voltage arena, creating a direct connection to the utility operation backhaul. Designed for medium-voltage repetition, the RpMCtPLUS also bridges medium-voltage grids to low-voltage grids. Equipped with an Ethernet port, the unit provides connectivity for a wide range of Smart Grid applications. It is designed for US network topologies and is US standards-compliant. The RpMCtPLUS is housed in an IP67 compliant outdoor enclosure, which provides it with extended environmental protection. It can withstand heavy rain in outdoor installations, as well as flooding in underground installations.
The RpMCtPLUS unit is suitable for operation on both line types - underground and overhead - with isolated or non-isolated Inductive and Capacitive couplers. It is remotely managed by MainNet's network management system, NmPLUS.
RpMCtPLUS enables the use of multiple broadband powerline applications — such as, Smart Grid, SCADA Extension and Security & Surveillance — over a medium-voltage grid, as well as Broadband Communication services that include Internet, VoIP and Video
