Progress with Relevant Standardization Bodies

ETSI

Since January 2000, Main.net has been a member of the ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) – PLT (Powerline Telecommunications) committee that sets the European PLC standards.

ETSI is a European non-profit organization it’s mission is to produce telecommunication standards for today and for the future, and whose standards are recognized throughout the world.

The ETSI project of PLT was established in July 1999 in order to develop necessary standards and specifications to cover the provision of voice and data services over the mains power transmission, distribution network and in – building electricity wiring.

Main.net’s CTO, Mr. Shaike Zalitsky, plays an active part within this committee.

Main.net also represents the IAEI (Israel Association of Electronic Industries) in ETSI where PLC standards are being drafted.

ETSI

CENELEC

CENELEC is the European Committee for Electro technical Standardization. Officially recognized by the European Commission as the competent European standards organization in this field, CENELEC creates both voluntary and harmonized standards (conforming to the guidelines of a new approach Directive).

CENELEC standards are technologically neutral and are developed thanks to the contributions of experts from all over Europe.
Main.net’s CTO, Mr. Shaike Zalitsky is an active contributor.
